Debbie and Gary booked me to be their Micro Wedding Photographer at Broadoaks Country House Hotel during the summer. With so many ups and downs during the pandemic Debbie and Gary had decided to book their wedding at one of their favourite venues in the Lake District. They were happy with just few close family members and friends and so the micro wedding format suited them perfectly.
I met the happy couple as they were checking into their rooms and then allowed them sometime to finish off getting ready before a few individual photographs of the bride and groom. Then it was off to the music room inside a Broadoaks Country house for the wedding ceremony. With a big open fire wood panelling and a selection of musical instruments the room is rich in detail and textures and makes for a very cosy and intimate room for a wedding ceremony.
It is really rewarding to capturing all of the natural and candid moments when photographing a wedding ceremony such as those in the music room at Broadoaks Country House Hotel. Debbie and Gary’s micro wedding was no exception and being with a smaller group of people made it feel like I was very much a part of the family as well as being their wedding photographer.
After the wedding ceremony it was time for their drinks reception and even though there had been limits imposed on what was allowed at a wedding reception during the pandemic, everyone was enjoying themselves. After all weddings are happy occasions. After the drinks reception it was time to go for a walk to create some special bride and groom photographs for Debbie and Gary.
I was able to capture some great photographs during Debbie and Gary’s micro wedding. Including two photographs that have since been awarded a Bronze and High Bronze by the Guild of Photographers.
It was a great pleasure to be Debbie and Gary’s wedding photographer for their micro wedding at Broadoaks Country House Hotel. We were able to create some special memories and I wish them all the best for their future together.
