I first met Elena at the Broadoaks Country House Hotel Wedding Fayre last October when she booked me for her wedding makeup. A couple of weeks before we met again for her wedding makeup trial Elena and Dan asked if I would also like to be their wedding photographer. I was thrilled to bits that they had considered me for their Lake District wedding photography and of course I jump at the chance to be their photographer.
The day itself turned out to be a beautiful late February day in the Lake District, even if it was a little cold outside. My assistant, Felicity, and I looked after the wedding makeup for Elena and her bridal party. I left Felicity to take carer of the finishing touches while I slipped out to meet Dan and his bestman, Dan (not just two Dans but three, Elena’s brother in law was also called Dan!), for some portrait photography and for some candid photographs. I then went back to The Retreat at Broadoaks Country House Hotel to check on Felicity and for some more bridal prep photographs.
We were made to feel like a part of the family and it was an absolute please for us to spend the day in Windermere looking after Elena’s wedding makeup requirements and then Elena and Dan’s wedding photography at Broadoaks Country House Hotel.
Broadoaks Country House Hotel is one of my favourite places to visit for wedding makeup and wedding photography. Some of my my favourite moments from Elena and Dan’s wedding include the confetti photograph and the photograph of them on the tree swing, which has “memories are forever” carved into the seat. I guess they must know what they are talking about!
I would like to offer my best wishes to Elena and Dan as they start their married life together and to thank them for coming to Cumbria for their wedding photography.
