The Briery Wood Country House Elopement of Daniel and Mirjam | Elopement Photographer Windermere

2020 has been a challenging year to say the least. In January, what promised to be a busy and exciting time for my wedding photography, all ground to halt in early Spring. The country went into lockdown and weddings weren’t allowed to go ahead. I never imagined what effect a global pandemic would have on our day to day lives, our plans for the future and our dreams. The wedding industry was on the brink of collapse and suppliers and couples were rightly worried about whether or not weddings could go ahead. But then there was a small ray of sunshine in June, micro weddings would be allowed to be held again from early July.

Daniel and Mirjam had to cancel their original plans for their wedding in the spring. Instead they decided to book their Elopement wedding at Briery Wood Country House Hotel, inviting me along to photograph their elopement wedding . Briery Wood Country House Hotel is a beautiful venue and even in the rain the grounds were beautiful. I was able to meet Daniel and Mirjam shortly before their ceremony for a a quick chat to say hello, and a few pre-wedding photographs to help calm their nerves.

The ceremony was beautiful, intimate and special. There’s a closeness to elopement weddings and something that I really enjoy being a part of as a photographer. Daniel and Mirjam’s was no exception and it was a pleasure to look after their elopement photography for them. After the ceremony we were able to take a few more bride and groom portraits and even though it was raining we were still able to get some stunning wedding photographs outside. Just add an umbrella.

It was a great pleasure to be Daniel and Mirjam’s micro wedding photographer for their elopement at Briery Wood. We were able to create some special memories and I wish them all the best for their future together.
