The Briery Wood Country House Hotel Wedding of Paul and Mandy

Mandy contacted me shortly after Paul had proposed to her under the gazebo at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. They had just confirmed their wedding date with the hotel and were keen to involve me as their wedding photographer for their Lake District wedding. Fast forward to earlier this year and the arrival of their big day, I packed the car with my cameras and photography equipment and excitedly headed down to Windermere to spend the day with them.

Briery Wood Country House Hotel is a beautifully secluded venue for a wedding and it always feels like a second home for me, whenever I am there to photograph a wedding. There is a very familial feel to being there and the staff are always a pleasure to work alongside. Nothing is too much trouble and you I am always made to feel like a part of the team.

Mandy and Paul’s wedding photography started off with photos of them getting ready in their respective rooms, which included a special request for their ring shot. The wedding ceremony was held in the Garden Suite at the hotel and was followed by a drinks reception. The weather forecast was mixed for the day, which is quite often the case for winter weddings in the Lake District, and we took advantage for photos outside during any dry spells. This included Mandy and Pauls group photographs and the confetti photos too. They also wanted to have some photos of just the two of them by the gazebo, where Paul had proposed.

As well as photographing their wedding celebrations at the hotel we headed down to Windermere for some lakeside photos. It was wet and windy but we didn’t let that spoil or time by the lake and we took full advantage of a quiet lakeside for their wedding portraits. I like to keep my couple portraits as relaxed as possible on a wedding day with minimal direction. Mandy and Paul embraced this time for some fun photos including some dancing on a jetty too. I think we could probably have stayed there for a couple of hours but we had their wedding guests and their wedding breakfast to get back to. After their speeches it was time for me to leave them to enjoy the rest of their wedding celebrations at the hotel.

It was an absolute joy to spend the day with Mandy and Paul to be their Lake District Wedding Photographer at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. It was beautiful day and everyone had a fab time. Next up is helping them to create and design their wedding album and I for one can not wait to see what we come up with!

I would like to offer my thanks to the team at Briery Wood Country House Hotel for being brilliant in looking after us all, and I can’t wait to visit again later this year. I would also like to offer my congratulations and to wish all the love and happiness for the future, and also to thank them for choosing me to be their Lake District Wedding Photographer.
