The Broadoaks Country House Hotel Wedding of Fern and Ryan

Fern and Ryan’s wedding took place on a beautiful spring day in the Lake District at Broadoaks Country House Hotel in Troutbeck Bridge near Windermere. I had met them both earlier in the year for a pre-wedding photoshoot and it was great to see them both again as they were getting ready for their wedding day.

I’m a fairly regular visitor to Broadoaks Country House throughout the year and it is alway nice to see how different couples style the venue. It’s the personal touches that are always unique and stand out. Two of things I found really special to photograph were a tribute to Fern’s late father and a nod to all of the dogs in their families. Each of the tables were named after a dog along with a little watercolour portrait of them, with the top table being called Shirley after Fern and Ryan’s dog.

After taking photographs of wedding details it was time for photos of the bridal party getting ready before I moved on to Ryan and his groomsmen. I was joined by my second photographer, Kayley, just before the ceremony and after a beautiful ceremony we had a great afternoon photographing the wedding party enjoying themselves.

The speeches were hilarious and included a nice little nod to me (thanks guys), and after the wedding breakfast I took Fern and Ryan down to Miller Ground for their wedding portraits. Then it was back to the hotel for the evening celebrations.

I had such a fantastic day photographing Fern and Ryan’s wedding at Broadoaks Country House Hotel, and it was nice to know that they picked me out of a long list of potential wedding photographers. Their pre-wedding shoot really set the bar high but I am to say that their wedding day really surpassed it.

I would like to offer Fern and Ryan (and Shirley, their dog) my congratulations. It was an to be a part of your day and I can’t wait to get to work on their wedding album!

(with thanks to Kayley for all her hard work being my second for the day, and to Anthony Horseman Wedding Flims too)
