The Briery Wood Micro Wedding of Sarah and Jason

With an intimate ceremony in a stunning Lake District setting, Sarah and Jason’s micro wedding at Briery Wood Country House was just beautiful from beginning to end. Briery Wood is one of my favourite venues to visit to photograph small and intimate weddings. It always feels like a home away from home, and the weddings team and hotel staff are just brilliant. I knew before I arrived on Sarah and Jason’s wedding day that their day was going to be perfect and I was going to be able to capture some brilliant wedding photos for them.

I had already met Sarah and Jason for an engagement photoshoot earlier in the year, and without the need for introductions, I was able to start their wedding photography straight away. One of the things that I really enjoyed about Sarah and Jason’s day was that they spent a lot of time and effort on all of the little details. From the decor to their wedding cake, everything was thought of,, and nothing was left out. There were lots of details for me to photograph, plenty to document as Sarah was getting ready with the wedding rings, decor, and styling. Not forgetting photos of both of them getting ready.

One of the things that Sarah and Jason wanted to do was to walk down the aisle together at the beginning of their wedding ceremony. Knowing this in advance really helped me plan a first-look photograph into my timings. It was beautiful to capture that for them as they saw each other for the first time, and I was able to photograph that special moment for them. Then it was time for their wedding ceremony.

We had the perfect autumn weather for the ceremony, which took place at the wedding gazebo in the grounds of Briery Wood. This is one of my favourite outdoor locations to photograph a wedding ceremony. There is plenty of space and room for me to be able to move freely (and discreetly), getting ceremony photos from varying angles and positions to give my couples a variety of wedding ceremony photos for their wedding gallery. The ceremony ended with a confetti throw, which was just brilliant. Sarah and Jason had bought their confetti from Flutter Darlings, and just a small handful from each of their wedding guests created a cloud of confetti that seemed to stay up in the air for ages and made for some really good confetti photographs. We also had enough confetti left over to do it all again later on.

After the wedding ceremony, we took a trip down to the most well-known Lake District lake, Windermere. As a Lake District wedding photographer, you quickly learn where the best locations are for getting great photographs and capturing beautiful moments of your brides and grooms. Once at Windermere, we were able to make the most of a quiet lakeside for photos of the happy couple on and around a couple of jetties. Once we had finished at the lake, the three of us headed back to Briery Wood, where I left Sarah and Jason with their guests to enjoy the rest of their day.

It was my utmost pleasure to be asked to be Sarah and Jason’s wedding photographer, even more so at Briery Wood, one of my favourite wedding venues. It was a great day, and I could not have been happier with their wedding photographs myself. A lot of time and effort goes into my work ethic when I’m photographing a wedding and the editing of the wedding photographs afterwards. One of the most rewarding things that I get as a Lake District wedding photographer is knowing how happy my couples are once they have their wedding photographs. Sarah and Jason have not only left me a great review on Google, but they were so happy with their photos that they have gone on to order the most beautiful wedding album.
