The Loweswater Wedding of Will and Emma

Will and Emma were married on a gorgeous June day in the Lake District. The day began with them getting ready at their respective parents’ houses in Cockermouth and I joined Emma and her wedding party for their getting ready photos before the wedding ceremony. From there it was only a short walk to the Town Hall to meet with Will before the ceremony began.

Cockermouth Town Hall offers a great space for a wedding ceremony right in the centre of the town, and for me the big advantage is that it is actually walking distance from my home. I don’t have to find somewhere to park and I can leave my car and all of my wedding photography equipment ready for going to the wedding reception. After Will and Emma’s wedding ceremony, a confetti line and their group photos, I ran home to collect everything and drive to Loweswater Village Hall.

Loweswater Village Hall overlooks both Loweswater and Crummock Water, both of which are within walking distance of the village hall. Looking down across the valley gave us the perfect backdrop for Will and Emma’s wedding photos, with lots of relaxed and candid photos of them enjoying their day with their wedding guests.

After the wedding breakfast we took a trip down to Rannerdale at Crummock Water for Will and Emma’s couple photos. Crummock Water is a beautiful location for wedding photography where you can really include the natural beauty of the Lake District in the photos of your couples. It also offers a variety of locations and backdrops od the lake and surrounding fells to give you lots of options for your couple photos.

Will and Emma’s evening reception included live music from The Singles Table. Nothing beats a live band at a wedding for filling a dancefloor quickly with everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. It really does make your job as a wedding photographer easy when there are so many happy people enjoying themselves. As the band finished their first set we had the most amazing sunset starting, so I quickly asked Will and Emma to walk through a nearby field. This allowed me to finish their wedding photography with photos of them walking through the long grass with the most beautiful golden glow around them and produced one of my favourite photographs from their wedding day.

A huge thank you to Will and Emma for picking me to be their wedding photographer. The day was just brilliant from beginning to end with beautiful weather in a fantastic location in the heart of the Lake District.
