The Briery Wood Country House Wedding of Abby and Ryan | LGBTQ Wedding Photographer Windermere

Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May in 2021 was very hot and sunny in the Lake District when I visited Briery Wood Country House Hotel to photograph Abby (she/her) and Ryan’s (he/him) “Just The Two Of Us” wedding. Can you believe that this was only my third wedding as a Lake District Wedding Photographer of the year! It was such a late start to the 2021 wedding season and it was great to be back at one of my favourite venues to look after Abby and Ryan’s wedding photography. Also in attendance on the day were both of Abby and Ryan’s parents and their gorgeous husky, Alaska. So with gorgeous weather and a fab venue I was ready to get Abby and Ryan’s LGBTQ wedding photography underway.

Abby (she/her) and Ryan (he/him) are an LQBTQ couple and it was an important part of their wedding celebrations to include the pride colours and symbolism associated with LGBTQ community. As a Lake District Wedding Photographer it was a privilege to be asked to photograph their wedding and help them create some special memories of their wedding day.

The wedding ceremony was outside in the May sunshine at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. Abby was accompanied by her dad and Alaska, the husky, as Ryan waited for her by the gazebo. I was able to photograph many special moments throughout the ceremony and it was clear to see how much love was shared between this gorgeous couple, which I think really shows in their wedding photographs.

Micro weddings and Elopement weddings are something that I really enjoy being a wedding photographer for. Abby and Ryan’s “Just The Two Of Us” (with parents and fur baby) wedding was no exception to this, and it was a pleasure to be in their company in Ambleside and Windermere for a couple of hours for their wedding photography.

Briery Wood Country House is a great place for a Lake District wedding. The grounds gift you many locations for wedding photographs and before I headed off with Abby and Ryan for some photos at Windermere we spent a little time in the hotel grounds for some wedding portraits of the two of them and their nearest and dearest.

After a short trip I continued Abby and Ryan’s lake district wedding photography at Miller Ground by Windermere, the Lake District’s largest and most popular lake. We stopped by the waterfall at Wynlass Beck for some photographs before heading down to the lakeside to photograph Abby and Ryan with the dramatic Lake District background around them.

It was a real joy to be Abby (she/her) and Ryan’s (he/him) LGBTQ lake district wedding photographer for their intimate wedding at Briery Wood Country House Hotel. But we did not leave it there at the side of the lake, there were still a few wedding photographs to take back at Briery Wood. I would like to thank them both for choosing me as there wedding photographer and would like to wish them all the best for their future together as husband and wife (not forgetting being parents to a gorgeous puppy!).
