The Tipi Wedding of Danni and Jonny in Threlkeld

Hey there! So, in June I had the pleasure of shooting the most amazing wedding in the Lake District and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it! Danni and Jonny tied the knot at Cockermouth Town Hall, which was such a charming ceremony venue. I mean, can you imagine saying your vows surrounded by all that Georgian history in Cockermouth? It was a dream.

After the ceremony, we headed to Bassenthwaite Lake for some relaxed portraits of the newly weds before heading over to Threlkeld Cricket Club. Threlkeld is nestled at the foot of Blencathra, and let me tell you, the setting was breathtaking. Danni and Jonny had decorated this stunning tipi for their reception, and it was like something with the Lake District making the perfect backdrop to their wedding reception.

The whole day was a whirlwind of laughter and fun. I love shooting weddings like this, where everyone is just so relaxed and having the best time. But let me tell you, the real highlight of the evening was the dancing. Danni and Jonny had hired this incredible three-piece rockabilly band called The Mustangz, and they absolutely brought the house down. It was like being transported back in time to the 50s with a modern twist. With everyone dancing their hearts out I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dance floor so alive with energy and joy.

Being a Lake District wedding photographer is such a privilege, being able to capture all those beautiful moments surrounded by such stunning scenery. I’m so grateful to Danni and Jonny for allowing me to be a part of their special day. Cumbria wedding photography is truly something special, and I can’t wait to share these pictures with the world.
