The Lakeside Hotel and Spa Wedding of Philiy and Nathan

Last Summer I photographed a beautiful Lake District wedding at the Lakeside Hotel and Spa, and let me tell you, it was filled with so much fun. So much so that my ribs were aching on my drive home from all of the laughter!

The couple, Philiy and Nathan, were an absolute joy to photograph, from beginning to end. From their pre-wedding meeting, I knew their wedding was going to be something special. They had this laid-back and relaxed vibe, which really set the tone for the whole day.

As a Lake District Wedding Photographer, I’ve been fortunate to shoot at some stunning locations, with the Lakeside Hotel and Spa being one of them. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the Lake District and the lush greenery of the Cumbrian countryside, it provided the perfect backdrop for Philiy and Nathan’s big day.

One of the highlights of the wedding was capturing the relaxed wedding portraits of the couple on a nearby fell. We took a drive to Gummers How for a scenic walk, with their dog Nala, and to take in the stunning views over Windermere. Philly and Nathan were so natural in front of the camera, and their love for each other radiated through every frame.

Now, I say their love radiated but one of the things I should mention about Philiy is that she is not a fan of public displays of affection. So much so that she had to cover her face from the view of the wedding guests when Nathan & her had their first kiss during the ceremony. I thought this would be great way to get some really great relaxed portraits of the two of them, and unfortunately for Philiy it meant that I kept asking them to kiss. Fortunately for me they both really took it in the fun way that it was intended, and while we laughed a lot it also meant that I was able to take some fab photos.

As a Cumbria Wedding Photographer, I strive to capture those genuine and authentic emotions, and this wedding definitely provided me with ample opportunities to do so. It’s truly a privilege to be able to freeze these special moments in time, and Philiy and Nathan’s wedding was no exception.
