The Gilpin Lake House Micro Wedding of Damien and Megan
The newest members of the “definitely not a cult” Jaye-Peg Collective are Damien and Megan, or Damien-Peg and Megan-Peg if you like. They were married in an intimate ceremony with just their parents present at the fabulous Gilpin Lake House-Peg last week.
– “But Jaye, don’t you call all wedding venues fabulous?”
– Yes. Sometimes amazing, or brilliant and even awesome from time to time. Generally speaking it’s figurative term to express how much I love going to these wonderful (there’s another) places with a shovel and spade, because I really dig them.
– “Ah, okay. Are you sure you’re not trying to start a cult?”
– Erm…
As seems to be the way for most weddings in the Lake District these days, it was raining and I got quite wet. Mostly afterwards when I was loading the car with the numerous bags, cases and lighting paraphernalia I take to weddings with me. It took 3 trips. That stuff is really heavy and I’ve got rubbish shoulders. I got very wet.
Regardless of the early Spring rain, Damien and Megan had the day that they wanted, and to be honest that’s what matters the most. Just them and their parents (and step-parents) to celebrate their wedding in the lap of luxury. Admittedly it was a wet lap of luxury but none the less we had a great couple of hours, and it was warm and dry inside too.
With thanks to the brilliant team at Gilpin Lake House for looking after us all and for letting me use the office as an equipment store.
Finally, I’ve no idea if I’m supposed to do hashtags these days. It seems to change on a daily basis, the old advice on writing blog posts that is. Then again, maybe not. So just in case you are supposed to do something along those lines, I’ll end with: “hashtag – I’m a wedding photographer in Cumbria, please pay me lots of money to keep the dog happy with loads of Scooby Snacks.”
The dog wasn’t at Damien and Megan’s wedding but he defiinitely did tell me to write that.
