The Low Hall The Lakes Wedding of Mat and Charlotte

What can I say about Charlotte and Mat’s wedding other than “Wowee, what a day!” Not only was their day utterly amazing, it was also totally out of this world! (As astrophysicists, I’m sure they’ll appreciate that joke).

Their day started at the very fabulous Low Hall The Lakes, which overlooks the Lorton Valley and the northwestern Lake District fells. It’s a well-known fact that I absolutely love a Low Hall The Lakes wedding, and if it isn’t, it should be! (And it honestly has nothing to do with how very close it is to my home in Cockermouth). Low Hall is one of those venues that you instantly fall in love with upon arrival. As you head down the long driveway, you go over a small bridge under the cover of trees and are met with the most gorgeous-looking wedding barn and rustic perfection. I guess that’s why Mat and Charlotte chose it for their wedding celebrations. A most excellent choice if you ask me.

Throughout Mat and Charlotte’s day at Low Hall The Lakes, the company was just splendid and I particularly enjoyed the fact that Mat’s brother and best man, Adam, soon got the measure of me and merely referred to me as “Trouble” all day. He absolutely had me bang to rights.
The day was also spent in the company of many astrophysicists, and if I learnt anything, it was that supernovas hiccup and definitely don’t burp. We also had guests travelling from all over the globe to our little corner of the Lake District. How amazing is that!

On what was forecast as a pretty mixed day, we were able to spend most of the afternoon and evening outside. Which gave us a nice and relaxed afternoon and some beautiful evening sunshine when the sun finally decided to put in an appearance.

Throughout the whole wedding I took some photographs. It’s what I do. If you see me at a wedding, generally speaking, I’m there with a couple of cameras taking photos. I mean, it would be a bit weird if I stood in a corner looking a bit lost like an inconveniently misplaced wedding photographer. So me, my cameras, Low Hall The Lakes, and Charlotte and Mat, all equal a supernova of a day! (see what I did there).

Charlotte and Mat’s day wouldn’t have been complete without the help of some amazing suppliers too. A huge thank you to Ben, Fran and Louisa from Low Hall The Lake, the officiants from Cumberland Registration Service and all the other awesome humans who helped make Mat and Charlotte’s day brilliant! Yay!
